Another DJI Mini 3 Pro photo leaked has shown the drone’s design from nearly every angle. The photos show that the new features were not at the expense its sleek appearance.
The DJI Mini 3 Pro will be an upgraded version of the DJI Mini 2. This is DJI’s smallest and best-selling beginner drone . Its successor, however, has had to include new features like obstacle avoidance sensors without increasing its size. The @DealsDrone photos (opens in new tab above) confirm that the DJI Mini 3 Pro will feature the same design as the leaked packaging from March. This design includes two large front-facing obstacles sensors. These bumps may also have rear-facing sensors, if the photos are true. The Mini 3 Pro’s side-on photo really shows its size, especially when its arms are extended. A drone’s appearance is not a priority for many pilots. There are likely good reasons for its design. Previous leaks have indicated that the drone will be equipped with a larger battery and a bigger camera sensor.
It appears that the DJI Mini 3 Pro, just like its predecessor will continue to fall below the 250g weight limit. Drones weighing less than 250g are exempted from registration in many countries. These photos show another marking on the Mini 3 Pro’s bottom that reads “ultralight, 249g”.
It is not yet clear if the Mini 3 Pro allows for additional weight to add accessories such as ND filters or propellor guards while still remaining below 250g. This could be important for certain fliers like the US who need “no exposed rotating components” when flying above people.
Another leaked photo, showing a closeup of the camera appears to confirm the rumors that DJI Mini 3 Pro can shoot video in portrait. This will make it a popular choice for those who want to create aerial videos on Instagram and TikTok. This leak suggests that DJI’s next drone is likely to launch in the near future. A full take-off will likely occur later this month.
Although the design of Mini 3 Pro has been fully revealed, there are still a few questions.
First, we don’t yet know the sensor size. Previously, rumors pointed to a 1/1.3in CMOS Sensor. This would be larger than the 1/2.3in Chip in the DJI Mini 2. But that’s an important detail that we might not learn until the official launch.
The question of how many Mini 3 Pro versions we will get is also a concern. There have been no rumors or leaks about the standard DJI Mini 3 drone. Some possible pricing has come from Chinese social media.
It’s possible that we will only see the DJI Mini 3 Pro arrive in our hands later this month. There are many bundles available with different prices. We’ve seen the DJI RC controller leaked, and the most expensive bundle could include it. This is an all-rounder we believe to be the best drone you can buy.
It’s possible that we will also see a DJI Mini 3 Pro that doesn’t include that controller. A more affordable bundle that includes a standard controller that can be used with your smartphone is available. If you have a tight budget, a bigger question is how the DJI Mini 2 will be priced after the Mini 3 Pro arrives. While there is no guarantee that the DJI Mini 2 will go down in price, it is worth waiting to see.
