A person died, and other four people were wounded in a shooting incident at a hookah bar in Virginia police said.
The Blacksburg Police Department said officers were called to investigate reports of shots being fired at the Melody Hookah Lounge in downtown Blacksburg on Friday night just before midnight.
Police have not identified the deceased person , or any of the victims who were wounded during the shooting. The authorities have said that they took them in local medical facilities however their condition is not known.
There was no additional information released, including information about suspects who might be involved or motives.
The nearby town of Virginia Tech was encouraging students to stay indoors but the school has since withdrawn the requirement, the school stated in a post on Twitter.
