Henry Ruggs lll Contract : The Las Vegas Raiders have officially signed No. 12 overall pick Henry Ruggs III to a rookie contract.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, ruggs agreed to a normal four-year rookie deal worth $16.7 million with a fifth-year option.
Ruggs was selected first overall in the 2020 NFL draught by Las Vegas. The 21-year-old made headlines at the NFL Scouting Combine when he had the quickest 40-yard sprint time of any athlete in this year’s class, clocking a pace of 4.27 seconds.
In the wide receiver category, Ruggs also tied for second in the vertical jump (42 inches) and sixth in the broad jump (131 inches).
Although Ruggs’ speed garnered most of the attention before the draught, B/Matt R’s Miller noticed the former Alabama star improved as a route runner while playing in college.
The Raiders are depending on Ruggs’ speed and receiving the ability to boost an offence that has consistently scored fewer than 10 points per game over the past three seasons.
Ruggs accumulated 1,716 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 98 receptions for an average of 17.5 yards over his three years at Alabama.
