Amazon, the global retail giant, announced Monday morning that 150,000 seasonal workers will be hired by the U.S. during the holiday season. This includes more than 1,000 jobs in the Kansas City region.
These jobs pay an average of $18 per hour and include opportunities for an additional $3 per hour depending on the shift and where you work. In some cases, a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000 may be available.
“Our seasonal hiring helps deliver on our promises and also provides flexibility to our full-time employees during busy times,” stated Alicia Boler Davis in a press release.
There are many job openings, both part-time and full-time.
Amazon pointed out that it is possible for seasonal employees to become permanent employees by using its Career Choice program.
There are many jobs available in the fulfillment and delivery center, including picking, packing, and shipping.
New employees will be trained for their job upon hiring and given instruction about COVID-19 safety procedures.
