The season’s 23rd race is one of the 36 races on the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Schedule. It takes place at Michigan International Speedway. Michigan International Speedway hosted only two races per season for 47 consecutive years before last year. (NASCAR Qualifying)
The FireKeepers Casino 400 is Sunday’s race. It is a 200-lap race that takes place on Sunday afternoon in Brooklyn, Michigan. This format is the same one used to establish the starting line for all other oval races since the beginning of the season.
The results from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s most recent race have resulted in two groups of drivers. The session will still be a one-car session. The qualifying order is determined by the qualifying formula. NASCAR Qualifying
Each driver attempts a single lap qualifying attempt. The fastest five drivers in each group advance to round finals, where they each attempt another single-lap.
The top 10 positions in the starting lineup are determined by the speed of the second round. However, the speeds of the first round (regardless of the group) determine the rest. NASCAR Qualifying
